If your pole and reel say max limit 10lbs, try 20lbs test line. Use the 50% as drag 3 as your base as to if you will break your pole or not, then go from there. Even if its says you risk breaking the pole. When i used 12lbs test line, i could reel in a fish at 2 drag, if a fish was under 23 lbs i could use drag 3 but with a high risk of it breaking the line. i would be able to pull in a fish of this size, but it would be a back and forth fight. so a 30 lbs fish at this setting would create a tension of 15lbs. Meaning at 3 drag, it causes 50% tension. I may be wrong here, but from testing it would seem the drag does infact act like a Clutch. With this set up i can reel in a 25lbs fish on 3 drag with no problem, even 4 drag on some.If i were to follow what the poles limit was, i would think 10.5 lbs test would cause the pole to break. Issue with this great table it looks awesome and certainly works in terms of making money but if as it suggests by talking levels its a guide to best places to level up, its missing a major trick in terms of the lack of XP per fish - which would be far more informative than the Kgs - which could be provided by a simple rante.Recently i have seen a lot of complaints about the Drag, and how it works on cetain rods and reels.Īfter testing, i think most people do not understand why it works or how it works the way it does.įirst off the Max limits for rods and reels are missleading. Whereas silver arowana for example are on around 900xp, but are around 2000 cash for around 2kg fish, and you can easily bring in +3 to time taken to catch 1 young shark, however while you might be racking in more cash, you aren't raking in the XP. Having done the amazon bit, you end up catching a lot of young bull sharks which aren't great money 9000, but are awesome on XP +4000 for around 76kg fish. Whereas for Sturgeon you are looking at 3605 to 15000 per fish.īut what isn't considered here is XP factor!
